Prince Harry Reportedly Left ‘Disappointed’ After Princess Diana’s Sisters Shared Their Opinion of Meghan Markle

Prince Harry has often spoken about the striking similarities he believes exist between his wife, Meghan Markle, and his late mother, Princess Diana.

Throughout the years, the Duke of Sussex has repeatedly praised Meghan for possessing many of the qualities that made Diana so admired around the world. In the couple’s 2022 Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan, Harry said that “so much of what and how Meghan is” reminds him of his beloved mother.

According to Harry, Meghan shares Diana’s compassion, kindness, confidence, and sensitivity—qualities he says drew him to her from the very beginning.

Before their royal wedding in 2018, Harry also expressed his belief that Princess Diana would have adored Meghan. Speaking during the couple’s engagement interview with the BBC in 2017, he said his mother would have been “over the moon” to see him marry the woman he loved.

However, reports suggest that not everyone close to Princess Diana agreed with Harry’s comparison.

Diana’s Sisters Reportedly Had Reservations

Royal author Tom Bower claims that Harry was left deeply disappointed after introducing Meghan to Princess Diana’s sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes, during the early stages of their relationship.

Writing in his 2022 book Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors, Bower alleged that Harry expected Diana’s family to immediately recognize similarities between Meghan and the late Princess of Wales.

Instead, according to Bower, the meeting did not go as Harry had hoped.

He wrote that Harry believed Diana’s relatives and close friends would see the same resemblance that he did, but “no one agreed that his vulnerable mother shared anything in common with his fiancée.”

Bower further alleged that Harry’s aunts privately questioned whether Meghan would successfully adapt to life inside the royal family, reportedly believing she “would not fit in with the royal family.”

Neither Harry, Meghan, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, nor Lady Jane Fellowes has publicly commented on these claims.

Harry and Meghan Chose Their Own Path

Despite the reported concerns, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle married in a lavish ceremony at Windsor Castle in May 2018.

The couple later welcomed two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, before stepping back from their roles as senior working royals in 2020 and relocating to California.

Since then, Harry and Meghan have built a new life in the United States, signing major commercial deals and focusing on media production, philanthropy, and business ventures.

Meghan Expands Her Business Empire

In recent months, Meghan has increasingly focused on her independent professional projects.

She has launched her lifestyle brand As Ever, starred in her Netflix lifestyle series With Love, Meghan, and introduced her podcast Confessions of a Female Entrepreneur, where she speaks with women about business, leadership, and personal growth.

During promotional appearances, Meghan has spoken candidly about moments of loneliness and the pressures of building a new chapter of her life in the public eye.

Reports of a ‘Professional Separation’

Speculation surrounding the Sussexes intensified after reports claimed the couple were pursuing a “professional separation.”

The reports do not suggest that Harry and Meghan are ending their marriage. Instead, they indicate that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are increasingly managing separate careers while continuing to support one another privately.

According to those reports, the couple are dividing responsibilities across their business ventures and charitable work, allowing each of them to focus on individual projects while maintaining joint initiatives such as Archewell and selected Netflix productions.

The reported restructuring is also said to include separate teams and leadership for their respective professional activities, reflecting a strategy aimed at strengthening their individual brands rather than signaling any personal split.

Although rumors surrounding the Sussexes continue to attract widespread attention, neither Harry nor Meghan has confirmed many of the claims made about their private family relationships or professional arrangements. As a result, many of the reported details remain unverified and continue to be the subject of media speculation.
